the biggest perk of swiftiedom in the era of taylor being Everywhere is that ex lovers and friends associate you with her, and they’re unable to escape her. they’ll never forget you. your memory chases them down at every tabloid stand, every grocery store and coffee shop’s soundtrack, every social media platform, every concert where anyone has made friendship bracelets (aka most of them.) i bet you think about me.mp3 is REAL

since i mentioned abortion... i don't see a problem with a statement "the life of the mother matters more than the life of the fetus/infant" like. there will be anti abortion people going "oh so you think her life matters more than the baby's?!?!?!" i do actually. she has already lived outside of the womb and currently has goals and ambitions and fears and hobbies and friends and maybe a job and maybe goes to school. she has already been experiencing the world as a person. a fetus has known nothing but a life inside the womb. there are no ambitions, no fears, no hobbies, no friends, no jobs, no school, no anything for it in its current state. i do value the woman's life more than the fetus's simple state of being alive and i don't find any issue with that statement. just because a fetus has the potential to become a person in the future does not mean a woman who is living life right now should be forced against her will to drop everything and restructure her entire life around pregnancy and childbirth and childrearing. what is so wrong with saying that why does it make people so mad

While we continue to donate to personal evacuation funds, I think it is crucial to keep in mind that these individuals as well as millions more in Gaza are currently actively in need of basic necessities like food, water, shelter, and medical care. Keeping this in mind, and recognising that there is no way to know when the border crossing with Egypt will reopen, I think our attention should also be on raising funds for organisations currently on the ground who will have the widest impact on the lives of Palestinians who are still enduring the genocide in Gaza.

Below are some verified donation links of organisations that are currently providing assistance for the people in Gaza directly:

Food, water, and shelter

Taawon has launched a campaign to provide support in Gaza through food parcels, shopping vouchers, fresh produce, water bottles and shelter tents.

Watermelon Relief is a project initiated and implemented by a group of activists in Gaza, who work to provide aid to displaced families in Gaza through meals, support and activities.

World Food Programme (WFP) managed to provide assistance to more than 1 million people in Gaza in May by delivering food in shelters, makeshift camps and shops.

Life for Gaza is an initiative through which the Municipality of Gaza aims to provide basic necessities for the people of Gaza such as water projects, waste collection and the reconstruction of roads.

Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN) is working to plant farmlands in Gaza through their "Revive Gaza Farmlands" project, through which they had already started planting vegetables, fruits and leafy greens in Gaza.

Purchasing eSIMs is one of the only remaining ways to keep Gazans connected with the outside world, to get their stories out or even enable them to call for help after Israeli strikes.

The Sameer Project is a donation based aid initiative that provides tents, cash aid, diapers and formula for displaced families in Gaza.

Care For Gaza is an organisation that works to provide essential aid such as food packages and cash to deliver to displaced families in Gaza.

Palestine Children's Relief Fund, through their "Gaza Relief and Recovery" campaign, plan to provide essential medical supplies and treatments, as well as food and clean water.

Mutual Aid for the People of Gaza is a fundraiser managed by Mona in Gaza, who personally purchases and distributes basic supplies including food parcels to families in Gaza.

Help Gaza Children is another grassroots effort operating on the ground in Gaza to support families with food, water and clothing.

Medical care

Medical Aid for Palestine (MAP) provides medical supplies and supports healthcare services in Gaza.

Gaza Wound Care is a medical team in a tent in Nuseirat, providing care to children and supporting pregnant women.

Children Not Numbers is an NGO dedicated to providing medical care for the children in Gaza including delivery of medical aid and medical evacuation for children.

Rightfully so, I have gotten messages worrying if everything I post is legit (I try my best to make sure the answer is yes), but here’s a masterlist of ones that one or more people have confirmed are legit Palestinians. Most are from the blogs @el-shab-hussein, @ibtisams, @palestinecharitycommissionsassoc ,@90-ghost, @nabulsi and @palipunk

I will also be making individual posts for most of these

we need to have a conversation around white peoples inherent belief that poc are more backwards and bigoted than white people

geiser

to this day you'll find several people that wholeheartedly believe that colonization, while "not good" did still help "improve" the world. you'll find a not insignificant amount of 'progressive' white people that accept, for example, immigration, with open arms. but, or rather because, instead of regarding immigrants as people forced out of their home and culture, often times by the hands of western powers (usamerica's many international interventions, wars, invasions, israel even, or even more 'indirect' involvements, isis being the result of usamerica's invasion). they oftentimes see it as, again, "not a good thing", but, 'just think of those women who escaped the evil and misogynistic third world', 'think of the freedom those lgbt immigrants will now be able to access for the small price of their homeland and culture!' and on the other side of the same racist coin, there's those white people who heavily dislike immigration, not because of its implications on the general state of the world (that while some countries experience peace and enjoy stability, others are unlivable), but because 'those uneducated monsters and bigots and dangerous uncivilized people are going to threaten our white society! they simply don't know how to live in a civilized world!'

the second does not surprise me, the first however. well it still doesn't surprise me, but it does sadden me. i am aware it's propaganda at work but it saddens me that even those who welcome immigrants, feel the need to outwardly 'justify' it because immigrants enrich culture, and bring hard work and look for a better life. and inwardly as well, to themselves they also 'justify' it or rather 'celebrate' it because these formerly uncivilized individuals now have the chance to enjoy society and civilization. which doesn't allow them to question if said immigrants wanted to leave (some do), would have left under different circumstances (most don't). or maybe even if the cost of 'civilizing' the white western world was much too high. wonder even if the 'progress' they enjoy wasn't paid for by the blood and suffering of those 'backwards people of the uncivilized corners of the world'.

i think the worst thing about the whole “anti-woke” culture is how it’s not only dumbing down people (folks are literally forgetting pronouns are an actual word class, an inseperable part of grammar and everyday speech) but also praising meanness and insensibility above all. it has managed to make malice and unkindness synonymous with factfulness and reason as if intelligence didn’t stem from emotions. as if feelings weren’t the very core of human beings. as if knowledge wasn’t achieved through passion, sympathy, and open-mindedness. as if the whole crux of this entire anti-wokeness movement wasn’t rooted in pure unadulterated emotion of hatred and hostility.

watch iran be mass condemned for practicing "its right to defend itself" because that right only ever extends to the members and upholders and contributors to the imperial core

watch the media and "apolitical" and centrist celebrities and the whole establishment with its politicians and die-hard proclaimers of its supposed excellence and humanity all take off their masks for a brief moment just to spit in your face better
